January 2023 EOHCB Journal

EOHCB National

From all of us at the EOHCB, Happy New Year! May 2023 be a year filled with prosperity and business stability and growth for you.

In our first edition of the EOHCB Journal for 2023, the National Manager of the EOHCB shares his wishes, we inform members that due to unforeseen circumstances, we will only conclude judging for our 2022 EOHCB DIgital Hair, Nail, and Makeup Artistry Competition and announce the results on the 1st of March 2023. We share the objectives of the EOHCB as per its constitution and outline the purpose of employing a worker on a probationary period.

We also explain suspension and provide guidance as to when to suspend and when not to suspend. This is important as the unfair suspension of a worker/employee does carry risks to the employer. We look at loadshedding and how it affects businesses, employment relationships, and the ability to continue serving clients. Word is out that loadshedding will remain a problem for at least two years to come. Terry Miles provides business tips in the context of promoting services and products and we explore mental health activities in the workplace.

The EOHCB will have a stand at the Professional Beauty Expo, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 5th of March 2023. We invite the industry to visit our stand and connect with us on the basis of adding value to your business during 2023.
