You will note that the Information Regulator has issued a statement that as a result of the Information Officer Registration Portal being unstable and not allowing the same Information Officer to register across multiple entities, the deadline for registration of the Information Officer will be extended indefinitely for now. In other words, if you have been unable to successfully register to date, don’t panic as you will be advised by the Regulator when the system is stable again.
This does NOT mean that POPI compliance is extended! It merely means that Information Officer registration is not required by 1 July 2021.
